Has anyone tried NAET? It's a cross between acupuncture and alergy analysis. I heard about it from a masseuse at Cordillera about a month ago, she said there's a really great guy in Vail who does it and who helped her sister get pregnant (using the therapy...where's your mind?!). The theory is that hormonal allergies in your body can compromise fertility. I found a woman in Denver who does it, Dr. Cynthia Cortini at Clinix. Not that I'm recommending her, because I'm not sold on this quite yet, although the idea of it sounds pretty groovy.
The first appointment, she met with me, talked about my problems, and explained the concept. Basically it considers an allergy anything that restricts your body from operating at full efficiency...not necessarily something so bad as to cause a negative reaction.
Next she had me lay down and she did a baseline strength test using my arm. She then proceeded to hand me vials of different things, such as egg, sugar, and hormones, and each time did a strength test on my arm. Certain things decreased my strength noticably and those were supposedly the allergens.
She treats one alergy per session, by placing the acupuncture needles in the proper points for that sensitivity.
Seems like possible BS, you say? Yeah I'm thinking that. But hey, I'm willing to give it almost anything a try at this point. And I should mention that my insurance covers it. Who'd have thunk!! Anyway, wanted to know if anyone has heard of or has had experience with this therapy?
Here's another blog - The Informal Matriarch - where a woman talks about her experience trying the therapy on her son.
